What this is
HandyConvert is a free, bilingual (English / French) site built around three things you reach for often: a live multi-sector unit converter, a small set of kitchen calculators, and Canadian-and-US mortgage tools. Each is built to do one job well — answer your question in seconds, on a phone, without ads in the way.
Who it’s for
Three audiences in particular: trades and field workers who need a fast unit conversion on the jobsite; home cooks scaling recipes or substituting pans; and Canadian homebuyers comparing mortgage scenarios with the correct semi-annual compounding. Anyone else who needs a quick conversion — students, travellers, science homework — is welcome too.
How the tools are built
Every calculator shows its work. Results update as you type, the math is laid out so you can check it, and tool inputs are encoded in the page URL, so any result is shareable and reproducible. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no newsletter, and no data leaves your device.
Accuracy
We work hard to get the math right and to cite our sources for any reference data. The results are estimates meant to support your own judgement — they are not engineering, construction, financial, mortgage, tax, or legal advice. Always verify before you commit to a purchase, a cut, or a financial decision.
